Navigating the executive job market can feel isolating, but what if you didn’t have to do it alone? This #short reveals a powerful, game-changing strategy that top executives use.
Salary Negotiations. Negotiating the Package.
So often, C-suite professionals, executives in different organizations, make the same tragic mistake that proves so costly. Let me explain what you’re doing wrong. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for no-BS job search coaching and career advice globally because I make the process of finding work and succeeding at it much easier.
The mistake you often make is to try and go it alone. Don’t. There’s no reason for that. Senior level searches are lonely, and creating a feedback environment for yourself of trusted advisors—like having a board of directors for yourself, a board of advisors for yourself—can make a huge difference in your mental health and your success.
Put together a short list of five to seven, maybe 10 people tops, of trusted peers or mentors who will act as formal advisors for you during your search. You’re not asking them to find your job; I just want to be clear about that. You’re keeping them in the loop and inviting their ideas, introductions, and intel. Not figuring it out on your own makes a big difference. It’s why I coach; I help people figure things out. But here, I just want to encourage you: put together a board of advisors that’s going to support you with your search, not get you a job, but be someone you can bounce ideas off of, get input from, uh, ideas from, and move forward with.
I have a lot more great information at jobsarch.com/community. Come over to the site, go exploring. I’ve got free content on the homepage, and if you become an insider at one of the higher tiers, we spend time working together, and I coach you in this search.
