The day many have been dreading has arrived: Microsoft has officially stopped supporting Windows 10, its ten-year-old operating system (OS), which was replaced by Windows 11 in 2021. This means that if your PC still runs Windows 10, it will no longer receive free feature updates, security patches, or bug fixes.

While many people have upgraded to Windows 11, according to statcounter, Windows 10 still holds a 40 percent worldwide market share, meaning millions of people are still using Microsoft’s older OS. While upgrading to Windows 11 is free, there are roadblocks to doing so. Namely, Windows 11 has stricter upgrade requirements, such as a PC needing to support Secure Boot and TPM to update to it.

Luckily, if you want to update to Windows 11, but you can’t because of Microsoft’s restrictions, there are third-party apps that let you bypass them. One in particular that has been in the spotlight lately is Flyoobe. It lets you cleanly update to Windows 11 on any PC, completely bypassing Microsoft’s strict requirements. Recently, it received a major update that overhauled and polished its user interface, making it easier to navigate and setup Windows 11.

If you like the sound of Flyoobe, it’s available completely for free on GitHub, with the latest version being Flyoobe 1.31. I checked it out in early September, and while I enjoyed the experience, this new update makes a night-and-day difference. While the core functionality remains the same, the new update makes the interface much more user-friendly, and the screen for updating from Windows 10 to Windows 11 is now much clearer. If you want to update to Windows 11 using Flyoobe, the process is quite simple. All you need is a Windows 11 ISO, which you can get for free from Microsoft’s official Media Creation tool, and Flyoobe helps you do this.

Apart from helping you update to Windows 11, once you have it installed, Flyoobe also offers a number of tools for helping you set up the OS. As part of the update, the developer of Flyoobe notes that its Personalization page for Windows 11 has been “visually polished for a cleaner and more consistent look.” Flyoobe’s Personalization page lets you customize a few aspects of Windows 11 all in one convenient place, including the color mode for windows and apps, taskbar alignment, toggling transparency effects on or off, and choosing a background, color accents, and desktop icons.

Additionally, with this update, Flyoobe has added a new way to easily install apps after you’ve updated to Windows 11.

“The OOBE installer has been improved and expanded. It’s now possible to manually search and install app packages directly from the Winget manifest using the new ‘Install custom Winget package’ option,” Flyoobe’s developer Belim explains. “The feature is a bit more barebones than UnigetUI, but intentionally lightweight to keep Flyoobe fast and efficient as it covers everything essential.”

What this means is that you can now search for popular apps to install through Flyoobe. If you’ve chosen to freshly install Windows 11 rather than just update to it, this will make it much easier to set up. Whenever I set up a new Windows 11 PC, one of the first things I do is install Chrome and individually search for various programs I want to downlaod, such as Spotify, Steam, VLC, and more. With Flyoobe, you can now just search for them all through the app in one place, and it will download the app packages for you.

With Microsoft’s support for Windows 10 now officially ended, the developer of Flyoobe releasing this update couldn’t have come at a better time. If you’re on Windows 10 and want to upgrade to Windows 11, I recommend checking out Flyoobe. While there are other third-party apps that perform similar functions, like Rufus, I believe Flyoobe is one of the easiest to navigate after using it myself.
