By the end of Summer House season 9, Paige DeSorbo realized that it was time to walk away.
“I’d like to say that I made this decision over months and months of thinking, and that is partially true,” Paige, 32, said on the Monday, August 4, episode of the “Bravo by Gays” podcast. “I definitely felt different leaving last summer. There was something where I, like, had this gut feeling [of], ‘This is probably the last time I’ll ever leave this house.’”
Paige announced in June that she planned to depart from the Bravo hit after seven seasons.
“[After season 9, Hannah Berner and I] went into the tour, so I wasn’t thinking anything Summer House,” Paige recalled on Monday’s episode, revealing when she made the final call. “Then, obviously, over the winter, I had the most public breakup ever [from Craig Conover]. So, when it came time to start thinking about the summer, I really just had a moment where I was, like, ‘Wait, I can’t go film a TV show, like, I’ll literally die.’”
She continued, “I felt like that last summer, where I was like, ‘I’m really busy and I really can’t manage it all.’ But this spring, I was like, ‘I really need time off. I don’t physically think I could film Summer House.’”
Paige, who contemplated her decision with her close family and friends, ultimately realized that taking a step back was the right call. She even opted against using Summer House as a way to promote her new fashion line, Daphne.
“The way I felt personally just overrode anything, like professionally with Daphne or Summer House,” she said. “I was just, like, ‘I can’t do it.’ I wouldn’t have been able to come this summer and been truly authentic because I’ve worked so much this year. I don’t want to go out on a Friday and Saturday night. It’s not my vibe anymore.”
According to Paige, she also felt that she was “taking a spot” on the Bravo show from “a younger girl who should have the same opportunity” that she did at age 25.
“She should run with it,” Paige said before teasing that she “would never say never” to a potential reality TV return down the line. “I love being on TV, I love production [and] I love the entertainment industry in that sense of filming something, editing it [and] watching it come out. That is very fun for me.”
For the time being, however, Paige is content being “out of [the] reality TV” space.
“I’m enjoying it,” she said. “I wouldn’t say I would be going back or a similar show where there’s an ensemble cast [that] dives into your life anytime soon. If something popped up in the next two years, [I would say] maybe, but as of right now, I just don’t see it for myself.”
Paige joined Summer House during season 3. Season 10, which is currently filming, will include returning stars Carl Radke, Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Jesse Solomon, West Wilson, Ciara Miller, Gabby Prescod and new additions Levi Sebree and Bailey Taylor. OG Lindsay Hubbard, who welcomed a baby in between seasons, is expected to make appearances as well. The show will likely return to Bravo in early 2026.
