Harris, who is now dating Sophia Bush, also emphasized that going through the “difficult divorce“ shifted how she navigates her emotions, a lesson she’s now teaching her two toddlers. 

“I think [the divorce] was definitely the hardest season of my life, in that there was so much grief and pain,” she said of Ali, who’s now dating Scottish soccer player Jen Beattie. “I’m such a feeler, so I think it’s very important to be vulnerable and share your scars, especially for our children. I don’t want to always show up and pretend I’m OK because I don’t want them to do that to their friends, partners, me or their mom.” 

The World Cup champion is also following her own rule book about being vulnerable, especially when it comes to her new career.
