Guerlain expands its L’Art et la Matière line with a new high-end perfume titled Vétiver Fauve. The scent is positioned as a novel interpretation of the vetiver note, which is traditionally associated with earthy, smoky, and dry characteristics.
With Vétiver Fauve, perfumer Delphine Jelk has sought to reinterpret the key vetiver ingredient by emphasizing its inherent green and fresh qualities while contrasting with its more conventional usage. The composition of the latest high-end perfume is built around a central accord that combines this reimagined vetiver with the lush, sweet nuances of tropical fruits. The resulting sensory impression evokes a vibrant, awakening jungle at dawn.
Delphine Jelk’s approach to Vétiver Fauve can, thus, be described as both familiar and novel.
