Be a connector; be the person who connects two other high-level people for their mutual benefit. Introduce executive recruiters to people who you know, and make that introduction beneficial to both. When you introduce others to opportunities, insights, opinions, partnerships, you build reputational capital that can wind up coming back to benefit you for many years to come, and as has been said many times, not many years to come, but tenfold while you’re quietly on the market.
