Tulsi Gabbard pulled back the curtain on her typically hush-hush relationship with her cinematographer husband in a rare public post.
Abraham Williams doesn’t appear to spend much of his time in the nation’s capital, where his wife works at the headquarters for America’s intelligence community.
Rather, the two appear to enjoy spending most of their time at their shared home in Texas.
On Gabbard’s usually job-focused social media accounts, the top US Intelligence official posted a romantic tribute to Williams last week accompanied by 10 images of them trailblazing the world together.
At least four of the images were in DC. One showed them standing outside the south side of the White House near Donald Trump’s Presidential Walk of Fame, another has them riding horses on a sand beach together.
Williams is holding an American flag after the two hiked up a mountain summit in weighted flak jackets in another.
‘I’m a day late … but yesterday was for us,’ Gabbard wrote in a February 15 post.
‘You are my forever valentine,’ she continued. ‘I love you with all my heart and am endlessly grateful for you.’
The Director of National Intelligence and her partner, who is eight years her junior, moved from their shared home state of Hawaii to a suburb of Austin, Texas, in 2024.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard shared a sweet Valentine’s Day tribute to her husband Abraham Williams to her instagram usually dedicated to work-related content

One image showed the two all dolled up for an event at the White House where they posed by the Presidential Walk of Fame that Donald Trump installed at the White House

Another showed Gabbard peering over Williams’ shoulder at his camera after he took portraits of his bare-foot wife near the Washington Monument

But most of the images showed the couple outside of the Washington Metro Area. The have a home in Texas, where they relocated to from Hawaii in 2024
While Gabbard’s office is in the DC suburb of McLean, Virginia, it appears she spends much of her weekend and holidays back at home in the Lone Star State.
They regularly appear in images on the Instagram page of an Austin-area gym that brands itself as the headquarters for the Tactical Games, which is high intensity competition combining CrossFit-style workouts, precision rifle and pistol marksmanship skills.
Basically they like to participate in competitions that combine fitness with shooting.
And it’s no surprise, Gabbard is still a member of the Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. She joined the Army in 2003 and after 17 years in the Hawaii Army National Guard she transferred to the Army Reserve in 2020.
While serving as the director of national intelligence she maintains her military status.
And while Gabbard runs the US intelligence community in DC, her husband is often on location shooting films.
He is not regularly seen roaming around the capital region like some other spouses and partners, and it appears he still spends some time in his and Gabbard’s shared home state.
Williams, who is part-Māori, part-Samoan and originally from Auckland, New Zealand, posted last month to his social media behind the scenes footage of him working the steadicam for a fight scene in the AppleTV show Chief of War.

The two originally met in 2012 while Williams was working as a volunteer on his future wife’s campaign, they married in 2015 – when Gabbard was still a Democratic politician

Roughly 80 percent of the season was filmed in New Zealand with the rest – mainly fight scenes – being shot on Hawaii’s Big Island in the Kalapana lava fields.
It’s unclear if Williams is a Democrat or Republican, but he met and married Gabbard when she was still a Democratic politician. The two married in 2015 and Gabbard announced in October 2022 she was leaving the Democratic Party.
Williams is registered to vote in Texas now, but his party affiliation is not listed.
He does have an Instagram page dedicated to his affinity for firearms marksmanship and precision sport shooting.
Gabbard’s first marriage was to little-known businessman Eduardo Tamayo from 2002 to 2006.
