Indian design firm Prithvi Architects has just completed the Winterfell house, which is a mud-walled home woven around existing trees and rocks. It is nestled in the village of Shoolagiri — the home is comprised of three bedrooms and a swimming pool to function as a calm retreat away from urban living.
It is notably made to blend in with the existing site as it is built around lush vegetation, Guava trees, and more. Arun Kumar of Prithvi Architects speaks about the design process, noting “We aimed to avoid disturbing the terrain and felling any trees. This led to an approach where spaces were intentionally designed to weave through and incorporate the existing trees and rock formations.”
