“I think Lisa Rinna is helping him because as you all know you can’t just walk into a Hermès store and buy a Birkin,” Maura noted of the luxury bag, which can retail for up to $300,000. “However Lisa Rinna has a lot of contacts, the queen bee that she is, so she’s helping him.”
As for how Maura feels about being duped? She maintains that being inside the castle isn’t as easy as watching from home.
“There’s a lot of people online saying, ‘He wasn’t a great Traitor, it’s just because the Faithfuls were dumb,’” Maura considered. “No. That’s easy for the audience to say because they know who the Traitors are. If he wasn’t a good Traitor, wouldn’t he have been banished? There were 20-something other adults in that castle, no one voted for him.”
It might not have ended in her favor, but Maura couldn’t be prouder of how she played the game—especially considering she’d never seen an episode of the Peacock series.
“I just wanted to go in there, be me, try my best, make friends, have fun,” she said. “I handled it with grace. I’m glad I didn’t fly off the handle. I knew this was a game show at the end of the day, a made-up game show. This is not real life.”
Maura emphasized, “I had the experience of a lifetime.”
