TikTok’s Dr. Katie Says She Is ‘Home Safe’ From Dubai Amid Iran Strikes

TikTok star Dr. Katie Hunter and her husband, Timothy Hunter, were able to safely leave the United Arab Emirates after President Donald Trump announced joint U.S. and Israel military strikes in Iran.

“We are home safe 😌. Thank you so much for all the messages checking in,” Katie wrote via Instagram on Saturday, February 28. “Hearing the news after so recently being there felt very close to home. A reminder of how quickly things can change, and how precious safety really is.”

The president announced in the early Saturday morning hours that the United States and Israel launched a series of joint missile attacks on Iran.

“I do not make this statement lightly, the Iranian regime seeks to kill,” the president said. “The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost and we may have casualties. That often happens in war, but we’re doing this not for now, we’re doing this for the future and it is a noble mission.”

Donald Trump sees no problem with Princess Kate Middleton editing a Mother’s Day portrait of herself and her children. “That shouldn’t be a big deal because everybody doctors. You look at these movie actors and you see a movie actor and you meet him, and you say, ‘Is that the same person in the picture?’” […]

A massive U.S. and Israel airstrike killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Trump, 79, later announced. The U.S. military has also confirmed that three servicemembers have been killed in the conflict — the first confirmed American casualties of the war.

As missiles were repeatedly launched across the Middle East, flights in and out of Dubai were canceled and alerts were sent to individuals urging them to shelter in place. (Katie and her husband Tim flew home just days before the attacks.)

“Right now, I’m feeling deeply grateful for the ordinary. The noise, the chaos, the cuddles,” Katie, who is a mom of three, added in her Saturday post. “My heart is with the families who are living through fear and uncertainty tonight. No parent should have to hold their child through conflict.”

According to Katie, she was “due to return to Dubai in a couple months” with her daughter, Amelia.

“For now, those plans will be gently revisited,” she said. “So grateful to be home. And thinking of those who cannot feel that same peace tonight.”

Katie, an emergency medical doctor, traveled to Dubai with her husband, leaving their children back in Australia under the guardianship of other relatives.

“Heading home from our first trip away as parents and it was everything we didn’t realize we needed,” Katie captioned Instagram footage late last month from the couple’s Emirates flight. “It was luxurious and special. But the real luxury is the little people waiting for us at home ❤️.”

Katie and Tim left for Dubai on February 16.

“This is a really big deal for us. Not the first time we’ve left them, but the first time it’s just the two of us heading away on a holiday,” the influencer wrote via Instagram at the time. “You can’t switch off being a parent. Our kids are in every thought, every little moment between the excitement. But this matters too.”

She added, “Time to rest. Time for @timthestayathomedad and I to reconnect. Time to remember us, outside the routines and the chaos. So grateful for the family holding everything together at home, and already counting down the days until we’re back with our little world ❤️ Because even when you get a break … you still miss them dearly.”

Katie has over 58,000 followers on Instagram and 300,000 followers on TikTok at the time of publication, where she offers glimpses into her life as an emergency medicine doctor.

“[I] started med school at age 17, became a doctor at age 22, moved to Australia by myself at age 24 [that] was supposed to be ‘just for a year,’” Katie recalled in an October 2025 TikTok video. “Met my now-husband at age 25 [and] married my husband at 31.”

One year after getting married, Katie became a specialist emergency physician and is now “living [her] best life with [her] beautiful family” while working full time.

“Feeling so blessed every single day,” she concluded.
