Tiger Woods’ Teammate Breaks Silence After Golfer’s Latest DUI Arrest

Tiger Woods’ teammate is breaking his silence after the legendary golfer’s latest DUI arrest.

“Very disturbing,” Kevin Kisner said on NBC on Saturday, March 28. “He was really working hard on his game, trying to practice and get back in shape. He signed up for the U.S. Senior Open yesterday. He was trying to do anything he could to come back and try and help our TGL team get ready, hopefully try and play the Masters.”

Kisner and Woods are teammates on Jupiter Links Golf Club of the TGL, an indoor golf league.

Kisner continued, “Just a really unfortunate incident. The only positive is that nobody was injured in the incident and we can all move forward and hopefully help him get better.”

The comments came a day after golf commentator Brandel Chamblee urged Woods to retire from golf, arguing that he has nothing more to prove in the sport.

“Why would he need to play golf anymore?” Chamblee said on the Friday, March 27, episode of Golf Central. “I think he should probably ask himself that. Consider not playing golf anymore.”

He continued, “It’s clear that Tiger Woods has a history of pushing himself to his physical limit. Beyond his physical limit. … To the degree that he keeps hurting himself, injuring himself, requiring surgeries … those surgeries and injuries come along with prescribed pain medication. And unless you’ve had your head in the sand for the last 20 to 30 years, you can connect the dots to the pain mediation and the addiction to the pain medication.”

Woods, 50, was arrested on Friday afternoon in Florida after he was involved in a rollover car accident. The golfer was subsequently charged with DUI, property damage and refusal to submit a lawful test.

Woods refused a urinalysis test when authorities arrived at the scene, according to authorities, but did submit to a breathalyzer test. The test resulted in triple zeros, suggesting Woods was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Authorities allege Woods was under the influence of drugs, not alcohol.

The golfer spent roughly eight hours in jail before he was released around 11 p.m. ET on Friday.
