One of the best parts of being a fully-remote worker is the freedom to work anywhere. However, in the past, that phrase has come with a small asterisk, as you could only, realistically, work anywhere with a power outlet. Few laptop batteries stand up to 8 hours of heavy usage, and when you factor in needing power for a phone, tablet, mobile hotspot, etc., it becomes clear that “freedom” often means “the corner of a coffee shop with the outlet under the table.”

However, I recently spent a few days doing remote work using the Cuktech 15 Ultra 20,000mAh Power Bank, and I have to say that this beast of a power bank really impressed me and helped me go almost a full workday with multiple devices, all without needing to plug in.

Price, specs, and availability

The Cuktech 15 Ultra is an imposing device at first glance, standing almost six inches tall and weighing in at a hefty 1.3 pounds. This is one power bank that you’ll definitely feel when you add it to your bag or backpack, and is currently the largest and heaviest power bank I own.

However, with its large size comes a massive 20,000mAh capacity with 2 USB-C in/out ports as well as a single USB-A out-only port, which can keep three devices charging at the same time. The power bank is capable of 140W max output via its USB-C ports (when only using one USB-C port at a time), and comes with a 240W input/output USB-C cable in the box.

In addition to its regular charging capabilities, this power bank has a fast-recharging “beast mode” that allows users to use a dual-port simultaneous input to achieve a 70% charge in 20 minutes.

Outside of its raw power features, the Cuktech Ultra 15 also has a very helpful1.3-inch TFT color screen that displays helpful information like device identification, how much power is going to each device, high/low-temperature warnings, input/output direction control, and the power bank’s own remaining power level.

What I liked about the Cuktech 15 Ultra 20,000mAh Power Bank

The power to keep on going for a full day

When it comes to my daily needs, there are three devices that I try to keep powered up while I’m out and about during the work day: an iPhone 16, a portable game console, and my 13-inch MacBook Air. When I took the Cuktech 15 Ultra for a spin, I left my home with the power bank fully charged, and was able to charge both my iPhone 16 and Switch 2 back to full power at the same time in under an hour. And thanks to the device’s display, I was able to keep an eye on the outgoing power and even made a quick cord switcheroo to help optimize the charging speed for my devices.

Unfortunately due to output limitations, I couldn’t charge my laptop at the same time as the Switch 2 and the iPhone, but when I pulled my MacBook Air out of my backpack upon returning home after a full day of work, it was just a few minutes away from hitting 0%, so I decided to connect it to the power bank, to see how much juice was still left. And to my surprise, the power bank charged the laptop to 98%, even after charging my other two devices earlier in the day.

Unsurprisingly, the power bank needed its own recharge after that, but fortunately I was able to plug it in using its included USB-C cord and the power bank was back to 100% in just over an hour.

What I didn’t like about the Cuktech 15 Ultra 20,000mAh Power Bank

The UI could be a little friendlier

When it comes to evaluating power banks, the essential question for me is whether or not the device easily and quickly powers up the devices I need it to. And on that front, the Cuktech 15 Ultra really succeeds as I was impressed by both its power and increased usability thanks to its onboard screen. However, this handy little device isn’t perfect and there were a few nitpicks that I couldn’t help but notice.

First off, while I enjoyed using the screen to monitor power, the user interface could be improved. There is exactly one button on the Cuktech 15 Ultra, and having it do everything from powering on the device to swapping the input/output settings is a little confusing and unintuitive. The device doens’t come with instructions so navigating the screen involved quite a bit of trial and error, and I didn’t like not knowing immediately what all I could do via the display interface. Having an extra button dedicated to navigating the screen in addition to a power button, would go a long way to making this feel like a more premium product, especially given its price.

And speaking of price, it’s hard to ignore this power bank’s steep $110 retail price. Brands like UGREEN and Anker have similar products for the same price or even less that come with additional features including built-in cords and additional charging options. Though I don’t think the $110 price point is an automatic deal-breaker here, this is one product that I would wait to get on sale.

Should you buy the Cuktech 15 Ultra 20,000mAh Power Bank?

The Cuktech 15 Ultra is a solid power bank that offers great performance at a slightly more premium price than it deserves. However, if you can find a unit on sale (and I did fairly easily while writing this review), the Cuktech 15 Ultra is a great power bank for not just remote workers who are looking to keep their devices charged while they’re out and about, but gamers who are looking to keep their handhelds powered up while on the go or even students who need something to power through long days at the library.
