In addition to unveiling its latest portfolio of AI gadgets at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, Honor has taken the opportunity to reveal more information about its unique Robot Phone offering on stage in Barcelona, Spain. The company describes the novel product as not merely a new handset, but an entirely “new species” of smartphone altogether.
As previously surmised from a teaser video uploaded by Honor a few months back, The Robot Phone features a pop-out camera module that incorporates gimbal technology for stabilization and subject tracking. According to the company, this 200MP shooter features “robot-grade” motion control, complete with all-angle AI video call subject tracking, 4DoF-based three-axis gimbal stabilization for use in Super Steady Video mode, as well as AI SpinShot for 90-degree and 180-degree fluid rotational movement.
In an effort to make the Robot Phone’s camera module more human and endearing, Honor has also made it capable of responding to the user with “emotional body language,” constituting expressive nodding and head shaking, as well as the ability to dance to the beat of music. According to the company, the handset is set to launch in the second half of the calendar year, though there’s currently no word on pricing or regional availability.
Honor is all-in on Robotics
The company wants to be at the forefront of human-centric AI and embodied intelligence
The Robot Phone doesn’t exist in a vaccum — rather, it’s an expression of Honor’s all-hands-on-deck approach to converging AI with human-centric needs. As an evolution of the company’s Alpha Plan strategy, the goal here is to explore and help pioneer so-called embodied intelligence at the consumer level.

In addition to the Robot Phone and the unique character it brings to the table, Honor also showcased a humanoid robot at MWC 2026, the first of what it describes as a broader move to embrace consumer-grade robots. This first model is designed with shopping assistance, workplace inspections, and supportive companionship in mind, while leveraging the company’s know-how in mobile technology and connected user experiences.
While Honor’s humanoid robot is still a bit of a nebulous product at the moment, its long-term implications are quite exciting. The company’s Robot Phone, which is set to have its day in the sun later this year, also looks promising, especially for video creators and everyone looking to capture video memories in the highest fidelity.
