The OnePlus rumor mill has been buzzing lately, with excitement building for OnePlus’ next flagship phone, expected to be the OnePlus 15. That’s right, if you were expecting the OnePlus 14 to follow the OnePlus 13, according to the leaks, that might not be the case.

That said, one of the biggest rumors circulating about the OnePlus 15 is that OnePlus will not be partnering with Hasselblad for the phone’s camera system, as it has done for previous models, dating back to 2021 with the launch of the OnePlus 9 series.

According to the latest leak, to help make the OnePlus 15’s cameras stand out without the Hasselblad branding, it’s possible OnePlus could be ditching its iconic large circular camera module design in the top left of the phone in favor of a square one. That means the OnePlus 15 could look significantly different from its predecessors and possibly resemble the OnePlus 13s and OnePlus 13T, which both feature a square camera instead of a circular one.

This leak comes from Digital Chat Station, a well-known leaker and industry insider on Weibo (via Android Police). Specifically, their leak states it “won’t be a large circle” and that it could have a “small square matrix in the upper left corner” (translated via Google Translate). Additionally, the leaker states that the OnePlus 15 will retain a triple camera setup, despite the design change, and feature three 50-megapixel cameras, with one including a periscope zoom.

Digital Chat Station also reports that the OnePlus 15 might feature a 7-inch display. Since the OnePlus 13 has a 6.82-inch screen, this would be a significant increase and would definitely make the OnePlus 15 stand out from many other larger smartphones, which are usually around 6.9 inches, like the iPhone 16 Pro Max or the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

However, despite its large size, the resolution might only be 1.5K, which typically corresponds to a pixel resolution of 2160 x 1440. For a 7-inch display, one might expect OnePlus to opt for a higher resolution, such as 2560 x 1440, to help make it even clearer, but we’ll have to wait and see. Additionally, the OnePlus 15 could also feature 100W charging and be powered by Qualcomm’s next flagship chipset, rumored to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.

It’s worth noting, of course, that all this information is based on leaks and rumors, so it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt for now. The OnePlus 15 is likely to be released at the end of the year or early next year, so there is plenty of time for things to change.

If all these leaks are accurate, the OnePlus 15 could look quite different from the OnePlus 13, which makes me a little disappointed. I like the design of the OnePlus 13, and it would be unfortunate for OnePlus to abandon that design style so quickly after its success.

Also, if the OnePlus 15 features a 7-inch display, it might turn off many users. I already find larger phones difficult to use and prefer devices with a 6.7-inch display or smaller, so a 7-inch OnePlus 15 seems out of the question for me. But to each their own. If OnePlus does go with a 7-inch screen for the OnePlus 15, I hope they plan to release a smaller version, like it did with the OnePlus 13s, and actually launch it in the US this time.
