Terracotta Pot-Inspired Vietnam Homes : Earthenware house

Architecture firm Naqi & Partners takes over the design of the Earthenware House in the province of Binh Duong, Vietnam. The remodeling process reflects a series of terracotta pots and it is made for a contractor and artist in the Thuan An City district of Lai Thieu. The team created the home by reusing the structure of the tube home — a narrow shophouse that is common in Vietnamese cities. They add a rooftop terrace and a front courtyard.

Naqi & Partners speaks about the design process, “The aesthetics of Earthenware House do not come from extravagance, but rather honest, handcrafted details that carry personal imprints. The house is divided into three volumes in a sequence, like three terracotta pots conjoining one another in a harmonious whole – grounded, cohesive, and imbued with the breath of the land.”
