The service operates through two primary applications — the AIra Explorer and the Aira ASL.
Aira Explorer connects users who are blind or have low vision to remote visual interpreters for real-time verbal descriptions of their surroundings, while Aira ASL offers on-demand video access to American Sign Language interpreters to mediate conversations between Deaf and hearing individuals.
Airra operates on a partnership model where institutions and corporations subsidize the cost of the service and offer it at no charge to their employees, students, or customers at designated locations.
