With an emphasis on accessible communication and visual information sharing, Aira provides a suite of digital applications designed to support the everyday needs of individuals who are blind, have low vision, or are Deaf or hard of hearing. The service operates through two primary applications — the AIra Explorer and the Aira ASL.

Aira Explorer connects users who are blind or have low vision to remote visual interpreters for real-time verbal descriptions of their surroundings, while Aira ASL offers on-demand video access to American Sign Language interpreters to mediate conversations between Deaf and hearing individuals.

Airra operates on a partnership model where institutions and corporations subsidize the cost of the service and offer it at no charge to their employees, students, or customers at designated locations.
