The Centre de Congrès, designed by Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, anchors the Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique’s Rabat campus with a monumental auditorium wrapped in deep green and sweeping arches. Curved concrete walls lift from the ground to create seamless transitions between outdoor porticos and interior volumes, while a central oculus filters soft daylight into the auditorium below. Saturated carpeting, walls, and seating in rich emerald tones add theatrical depth to the space.
More than a visual statement, the Centre de Congrès functions as a connective threshold, uniting different parts of the Rabat campus while hosting lectures, performances, and civic gatherings. Pale stone flooring continues beneath the soaring porticoes, blurring the line between architecture and landscape. As both a landmark and a gathering space, the building embodies cultural ambition and thoughtful academic design at the heart of the university.
