‘Sinners’ Dominated With Record 7 Trophies

This year’s Dorian Awards turned into a vampire academy.

Warner Bros’ awards-season favorite Sinners took Best Film, Director, Screenplay and four other prizes at the 2026 Dorian Film Awards, which were revealed Tuesday. Its helmer and writer Ryan Coogler added the Wilde Artist of the Year prize for the pic’s its cultural resonance and artistic ambition, per GALECA.

Hot off its big wins at the Actors Awards, he smash historical horror pic also won the Visually Striking Film and Genre Film of the Year categories — the latter of which covers science fiction, fantasy and horror — along with best Film Music for composer Ludwig Göransson. The seven wins set a Dorian Film Awards record.

“In an era when spectacle often eclipses substance, Sinners reminded us that a blockbuster can also be strong, political and profoundly human,” GALECA Executive Director Diane Anderson-Minshall said. “Our members were struck by its fearless storytelling, its powerful ensemble performances and its examination of community, resilience, and moral complexity across histories too often pushed to the margins.”

Elsewhere, Netflix phenom KPop Demon Hunters won the Animated Film prize, Cannes debutant Pillion from A24 won LGBTQ Film of the Year, and Netflix’s The Perfect Neighbor took the Documentary award. Rose Byrne went home with the award for Film Performance of the Year for A24’s If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and Amy Madigan won Supporting Film Performance of the Year for Warner Bros’ Weapons.

Tim Curry was honored with the Timeless Star Award, which goes to a performer “whose exemplary career is marked by character, wisdom and wit.” Gregg Araki received the LGBTQIA+ Film Trailblazer Award, and Eva Victor was named Rising Star.
