Simone Biles’ NFL husband signs surprise deal with a new team as Olympics icon prepares to up sticks to yet another city

Simone Biles will be preparing to move to yet another city as her husband signs for his third team in four years.

Jonathan Owens, the husband of the Olympic icon, has agreed terms with the Indianapolis Colts, according to Adam Schefter.

The former Chicago Bears safety is said to have signed a one-year deal with the Colts in free agency.

Owens spent the last two seasons in the Windy City, playing in all of the Bears’ regular-season and playoff games during his stint in Chicago.

He played 40 percent of the defensive snaps in 2024, but saw most of his playing time on special teams during the 2025 season.

He tallied 68 total tackles, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and one interception, appearing in all 17 games in both seasons.

Despite making 17 regular-season appearances last season, Owens played a total of just 47 defensive snaps and 264 on special teams.

Owens enjoyed stints with the Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans before joining the Bears.

The Colts needed to bring in reinforcements at safety after Nick Cross departed for the Washington Commanders earlier this week.

His Olympic gymnast icon wife caused a stir when Owens first joined the Bears from their fierce rivals, the Packers.

The seven-time Olympic gold medalist was slammed when she wore an outdated custom jacket of her husband Jonathan Owens – showing the Bears safety in a rival Packers jersey with the logo of his previous team featured rather prominently.

She had worn the Owens-centric jacket to the Bears preseason game against the Bengals at Soldier Field on August 17, 2024.

However, Chicago fans quickly noticed a Packers logo on one of her sleeves, and some had harsh words for the Olympian.

Yet, Biles quickly learned her lesson and instead turned heads with her weekly Bears-themed gameday outfits.

She became a prominent figure on the sidelines on gamedays, and even shared a hug with the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bears, Kevin Warren, before a postseason game in January.

Now, the Bears have lost both Owens and Biles as the sports power couple find their new home in Indianapolis.

The couple also has a permanent base in Texas, where they have been building a $3 million mansion.
