‘The Mindful Fund’ is the latest initiative from Making a Difference Locally (MADL), the charitable arm of Co-op Wholesale, aimed at enhancing mental wellbeing in schools across the UK. The program will distribute £50,000 in grants, allowing retail partners to nominate individuals from local schools to receive accredited mindfulness training.
Each £795 grant funds one educator’s participation in a course delivered by the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP), an organization known for equipping teachers with tools to help students manage stress, regulate emotions, and build resilience. With up to 31 schools set to benefit, the initiative creates a sustainable framework for embedding mindfulness into classrooms, with MiSP recommending that at least two staff members be trained per school for maximum impact.
