Roku just added a free channel dedicated to this fan-favorite film series

When it comes to free streaming services, The Roku Channel is arguably one of the best, offering over 500 FAST (free ad-supported TV) channels you can watch without paying a cent. And with Netflix’s recent price hike, it’s definitely worth a look as a free alternative.

What I really like about The Roku Channel is how it delivers a bit of everything, including reality TV, dramas, comedies, game shows, sports, cartoons, news, and more. It’s also packed with movie channels, and one of its latest additions is a big win for Hunger Games fans.

The Roku Channel has just launched a free 24/7 Hunger Games channel that is airing all four of the films released since 2012 (via Cord Cutter News).

That includes the original film, The Hunger Games, followed by its sequels: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) and the two-part finale, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014) and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015). Also featured on the channel is The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, a 2023 prequel to the original four films.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Hunger Games, it is a series of novels by Suzanne Collins that was adapted into films. The story takes place in a dystopian nation known as Panem, which is divided into 12 districts and ruled by a totalitarian dictatorship in the Capitol. The original four films star Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, who takes her sister’s place in the Hunger Games, an annual tournament held by the Capitol in which contestants from each district fight to the death in a televised event. The films are full of action and emotion, and are touching stories about survival, rebellion, and love.

How to watch The Hunger Games for free on Roku

You can find it in the Live TV Guide

If you want to watch the free Hunger Games channel on Roku, it’s fortunately quite easy. On a Roku TV or Roku Streaming device, press the Home button on your remote to go to the Roku home screen, then select the Live TV tab. From there, you’ll see an option to open the Live TV Guide.

Once you’re in Roku’s Live TV Guide, you can find the Hunger Games channel by searching for it. On the left side of Roku’s Live TV Guide, there are various categories you can scroll through, including a new search feature added in Roku’s February update.

If you choose the search option and type in “Hunger Games,” the new Hunger Games FAST channel will appear, and you can start watching. Alternatively, you can locate the Hunger Games channel under the Movies category in the guide.

So, if you’re a fan of the series, this is a great way to revisit some of your favorite moments. And if you’re new to Hunger Games, it’s an easy way to check them out without spending a dime.

It’s also worth noting that The Roku Channel is available beyond just Roku TVs and devices, and you can also download The Roku Channel app on Samsung smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV devices, including Fire TVs and Fire TV Sticks. There is also a Roku app on iOS and Android, which you can use to watch shows and movies for free.

The Roku Channel is usually where I go first to find free movies and TV shows to watch, but if you’re looking for even more options, I also recommend checking out Pluto TV, Tubi, and Plex.
