EXCLUSIVE: Principal photography has wrapped on Love Hate Hunt Kill, a new indie feature from filmmaker Roel Reiné (Halo).
The film follows Luna (Kimi Alexander), who believes she’s heading into the desert for a romantic getaway with her charming fiancé, Drew (James Oliver Wheatley). But the dream quickly dissolves as secrets begin to surface, especially involving Mike (Jamie Bacon). Tensions rise, and the couple’s bond begins to fray.
The synopsis reads: As their relationship unravels, the trip takes a deadly turn. A masked hunter emerges from the wasteland, dragging them into a sadistic game of cat and mouse. Is this a random act of violence, or something far more calculated? All the while, a mysterious comet streaks across the sky, growing larger by the day. Scientists warn it could be an alien probe. As global anxiety builds, Luna must face not just the predator in the desert but the terrifying possibility that humanity’s end is hurtling toward them from the stars.
Clay Epstein from Film Mode Entertainment is handling sales. Love Hate Hunt Kill is produced by Roel Reiné and Niall Cassin for Rebel Entertainment. Executive producers are Samantha Simon, Melanie DiPietro, and Jeaw Nyee Tan. The co-producers are Ingmar Menning, Johan Nijenhuis, and Justin Zoladz.
The film’s post-production features extensive AI-generated visual effects sequences.
In a statement, Reiné said: “We set out to prove you can tell a massive story with small means, small crews, experimental workflows, and AI-enhanced post. We’ve captured something truly special: an epic survival nightmare that feels both intimate and enormous. This is the future of indie cinema.”
