A Lesson from Sports About the Importance of Preparation Before an Interview

If you’ve watched any of my content before, you know how much I believe that interview preparation is essential. I’ve got a book out called The Right Answers to Tough Interview Questions and another one called The Ultimate Job Interview Framework that are both designed to help you with your interviewing. They’re both available on Amazon, obviously.

But I also want to talk with you about how important it is to sound like you haven’t rehearsed. That’s one of the beauties that actors can do: that they make it seem so natural that we believe they are the character that they’re playing, right? And you have to be much the same thing. You have to convey an image to people that basically sounds as though you’re prepared, you have the right answers, you inspire confidence that you’re the solution to what they need.

And that comes from the preparation. So, as much as I want to encourage you to be prepared for all the answers to every interview question, for every situation you might come into, however, you have to come across as being natural. Now, you can get access to both of those books at jobsearch.com/community as part of any of the programs that I have there. Become an insider, receive answers to your interview questions, to your job search questions, get coaching from me, plus access to all my content for one price per month.
