Resume & LinkedIn: How to Highlight Your Old and New Careers
If you’re over 50, there’s an organization that has great tools available to help you with your job search. Now, I have to tell you, having reviewed many of them, it’s not just for those who are over 50. They make sense for more of you than just that, but they’d like to focus on the over 50 market.
I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for no BS job search coaching and career advice globally because they make the process of finding work and succeeding at it much easier. And the organization is AARP. Now, they’ve got a “Strategies for a Successful Job Search” a pamphlet. It’s available online as a PDF. They also have a job search toolkit that’s available for you too, and I’ll put a link to that in the show notes.
But the long and the short of it is, if you’re over 50, and you don’t have to be a member to take advantage of these tools. They’ll have jobs listed specifically targeted for you. They’ll have resume tips. They’ll have information about remote and hybrid work. There’s a lot of information that’s available, and again, you don’t have to be a member to use this stuff. It’s on their website, and go exploring. There are some things that you may learn that will be helpful for you as part of your search.
