Last week, I returned from a leadership retreat I was attending and scheduled to facilitate with the flu. I had pre-written the episode of No BS Career Advice, and all I had to do was schedule it, and I would have had it to you.
Oddly, Sunday at 7:35 AM, I sent it, and nothing happened. It wasn’t delivered to anyone. It was gone.
I was too sick to do anything about it. I spent much of the week puttering and doing very little except following my wife’s directions, napping, teaching one or two webinars and recording a podcast for LHH.
I am feeling better but still have a lingering cough. UGH!
On Tuesday, our son comes for a visit from Vermont with two of his friends. He’s 24 and has developed his own career with only a little input from me.

The jobs report released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics was ridiculously good. The claim was +228000. Only 4000 jobs were cut in the federal government, which is stupidly wrong. Closing one federal agent is responsible for more than that.
The plus categories were:
Healthcare– +54000
Social Services– +24000
Retail– +24000
Transportation and warehousing: +23000
We are also being encouraged to be scared by the imposition of tariffs. US companies will hire. Some will fire.
Your job is to network and keep grinding to land your next job. Don’t let yourself be distracted. Keep talking to people. Letting yourself get scared won’t help.
