No Arrest Made After “Law Enforcement Activity” Near Guthrie Home


Shortly after the FBI increased the reward and provided new details about the masked suspect in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping, law enforcement caught a supposed lead.

On Friday night, Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced that “law enforcement activity is underway” in relation to the Guthrie case, at a residence near E Orange Grove Rd and N First Ave. No other details were provided at the time.

A PCSD spokesperson tells Deadline an arrest was not made in the operation.

On Thursday, the FBI increased the reward to $100,000 for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts or the arrest of anyone involved in her disappearance.

Sharing a Ring doorbell image of the suspect, officials described him as “male, approximately 5’9 – 5’10 tall, with an average build. In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.”

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31, when she was dropped off at her home. She was reported missing around noon the next day.

Authorities believe that she was abducted, and have been examining suspected ransom notes sent to TMZ and two local news outlets. Savannah Guthrie and her siblings also have recorded videos calling for their mother’s release.
