The Glenlivet 40 Year Old follows the distillery’s 200th anniversary celebrations. As such, the expression represents decades of expertise. Aged for 40 years, the spirit then underwent a finishing process in custom sherry casks, seasoned with a blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherries, to enhance its depth and complexity. Bottled at 46.9% ABV (cask strength), the whisky delivers a rich sensory experience with notes of poached plums, dark cherries, charred orange, and warming spices, culminating in a long, sweet finish.
Presented in an elongated bottle inspired by the distillery’s original 19th-century design and housed in a copper-toned case mirroring its stills, the release is limited to just 36 bottles in Canada, priced at $7,500 CAD.
