Mamma mia, Colin Firth needed to take a moment when he first saw costar Pierce Brosnan in spandex. 

In fact, Meryl Streep—who starred alongside the actors in 2008’s Mamma Mia! and its 2018 sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again—said the Oscar winner couldn’t help to make a racy joke after seeing the former James Bond in a skin-tight bodysuit for their “Dancing Queen” and “Waterloo” numbers.

“I don’t think Colin Firth has ever recovered from this moment in spandex,” she jokingly told Stephen Colbert during her April 1 appearance on The Late Show. “I remember when Pierce Broman and he came out of the dressing rooms and looked at each other up and down.”

Meryl continued, “And Colin said, ‘I need socks.'”

As for the rumored Mamma Mia! threequel? The 76-year-old will take it all, quipping, “Damn yes!”

And Meryl isn’t the only one screaming gimme, gimme, gimme to another installment of the ABBA-tracked musical film franchise. Pierce, who played one of her three onscreen lovers, is also game.
