Here’s Where It All Started…

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the Wilshire area when the LAPD spotted a dark blue Infiniti 250 sedan tearing through the streets, per KTLA. The vehicle was stolen and wanted by the cops. But the suspect, who was refusing to pull over, continued to speed through traffic. As more police cars were being dispatched, he reportedly went over 130 mph, crossing the 110, 105, 710, and 10 Freeways.

LAPD and California Highway Patrol tried to keep up, but the suspect’s reckless driving between other cars seemingly made things more challenging. Police choppers and news helicopters hovered above, capturing every moment as the driver showed no signs of slowing down.

The Suspect Then Made A Stop At A Gas Station

But then, the suspect pulled into a Shell gas station at Imperial Highway and Long Beach Boulevard in Lynwood. With police officers somewhere in the distance and helicopters buzzing overhead, the suspect hopped out while attempting to keep his face obscured. He then began pumping gas. After filling up the alleged stolen vehicle, he jumped back in the Infiniti and was back on the road, speeding down Long Beach Boulevard with CHP briefly rejoining the chase. Here’s How The Suspect Got Away…

The chase took its final turn near the 10 Freeway overpass at Alameda Street in the Fashion District. The driver, as seen in the video, suddenly ditched the Infiniti under the overpass, out of sight from the helicopters above. The car then rolled into a light pole and came to a halt, abandoned, as he ran on foot. By the time the LAPD and CHP arrived, the suspect was reportedly gone.

Cops suspect he either hopped into another vehicle or possibly carjacked an SUV to make his getaway. The overpass, a known blind spot for aerial surveillance, prevented helicopters from keeping track of the suspect’s whereabouts. As of now, the driver remains at large, with no arrests made and his identity unknown. The Infiniti vehicle, on the other hand, has since been recaptured.
