Country star Lorrie Morgan hit the stage for the first time following husband Randy White’s death.
Morgan, 65, performed at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, on Friday, June 6, with son Jesse Keith Whitley kicking off the show as the opening act.
The next day, Morgan sang at Nashville’s CMA Fest. Later in the day on Saturday, June 8, Morgan shared a video via Facebook of her performance at the Grand Ole Opry.
Days before her shows, Morgan shared that White died at age 72 on June 1 following a battle with cancer.
“Randy has been my partner, my champion and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man,” Morgan wrote via Instagram at the time. “I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”
The official Grand Ole Opry account shared their condolences, writing in the comments section, “We’re so sorry for your loss and keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. He will be missed. ❤️.”
In 2024, Morgan announced that White had been diagnosed with mouth cancer. She canceled her events for two weeks in April while White was admitted to the hospital.
The couple tied the knot in 2010, sharing Morgan’s two children and White’s four kids. After news broke of White’s death, Whitley paid tribute to his stepfather.
“As I sit here in the room with hospice, I don’t know really what to think or to say about this situation,” he wrote via Facebook on June 1. “But, I can say that the recent years of my life all the way back to when I was 22-23 years old this great man has been here and loved my mom , and also me & my sister as we were his own.”
Whitley noted that White showed Morgan “unconditional love,” and has been “the most gentle soul to ever grace this entire family.”
“As we say our goodbyes , I reminisce of all the good times we have had & the battles he has helped overcome. I can’t tell you the amount of love that has poured in from fans, family and friends,” he concluded. “We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight RanMan! Rest easy say hello to everyone and love on Weezy.”
