Lil Nas X Breaks Silence After ‘Terrifying’ Los Angeles Arrest


Lil Nas X is speaking out about his troubling Los Angeles arrest.

“You girl is going to be OK, y’all,” Lil Nas X said via Instagram Story on Tuesday, August 26. “She’s going to be alright. She’s going to be alright. S***. That was f***ing terrifying. That was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days, but your girl is going to be alright.”

On August 21, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed to Us Weekly that officers responded to calls about “a nude man walking in the street.” The LAPD declined to identify the man, and the department’s spokesperson added the person in question attempted to “batter an officer, so he was booked for battery of a [peace officer].”

TMZ reported on Monday, August 25, the rapper, 26, was charged by the LAPD with four felonies, including battery with injury on a police officer. The outlet also reported bail has not been set, and the rapper (real name Montero Lamar Hill) was set to be arraigned the same day.

Viral footage shared online appeared to show Lil Nas X wearing a traffic cone atop his head while talking to himself about attending a party. Us has reached out to Lil Nas X’s representatives for comment.

Lil Nas X previously revealed he’d recently been hospitalized after losing control of half of his face. The rapper posted a video from a hospital bed via Instagram on April 14 and captioned it, “Soooo lost control of the right side of my face 😭.”

He then attempted to smile and added, “This is me doing a full smile, by the way.”

“I can’t even laugh, bro!” he said. “What the f***? Oh, my God.”

In February the rapper admitted he has struggled through the last few years. “These last few years were pretty difficult for me,” he said in a video shared via X. “I’m just now arriving to this place of feeling confidence in myself and what I’m doing, and I’m trying to make sure I put intention towards my music and my vision and the creativity of it all.”

“Most of all, I really want to make sure I have fun this time around,” he continued before adding that he didn’t have as much fun during the rollout of his 2021 album, Montero.

“I was more focused on making sure the songs did well than making sure I was having fun doing s***,” he explained. “And I’m not saying I didn’t have any fun. I had some f***ing fun. But I want this time around to be even more fun and I want to be even more full of joy and I want to be even more full of love.”
