At the beginning of the year, LG announced its latest flagship TVs at CES 2026, including the successors to two of its most popular OLED TV lines: the LG C6 and G6 series.
As usual at CES in January, LG didn’t announce pricing for its new OLED TVs, but now that we’re in March — with pre-orders live and the TVs expected to hit retail shelves in the coming days — LG has finally revealed how much its latest OLED models will cost. And as you might expect, there’s both good news and bad news.
The good news is that despite fears of rising prices due to the ongoing memory shortage, LG has kept its new OLED TVs at the same prices as last year, with the LG C6 series starting at $1,400 and the G6 series at $2,500. However, the bad news is that these are still quite expensive if you’re looking for a new OLED TV.
While it’s nice to see LG keeping prices steady, I wouldn’t hurry to pre-order just yet…
Taking a closer look at pricing, LG’s flagship G6 series ranges from $2,500 all the way up to $25,000. And if that $25,000 price tag makes your eyes water, don’t worry — that’s only for the massive 97-inch model. The 55-inch starts at $2,500, the 65-inch at $3,400, the 77-inch at $4,500, and the 83-inch at $6,500.
As for the more affordable LG C6 series, the 42-inch model starts at $1,400, followed by $1,600 for the 48-inch version. The 55-inch comes in at $2,000, the 65-inch at $2,700, the 77-inch at $3,700, and finally the 83-inch model at $5,300.
However, while it’s nice to see LG keeping prices steady, I wouldn’t hurry to pre-order any of these just yet. Why? Because there are two simple ways you could save a lot of money by holding out.

I wouldn’t order any of these new LG TVs – yet
You can easily save money and still get a great OLED TV
While LG’s new C6 and G6 series OLED TVs look shiny and new — and do bring improvements like the LG Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3 for faster image processing and brighter panels — I still wouldn’t rush to order one just yet. The reason is simple: you can save a lot of money either by going with last year’s models or by waiting for sales on these new TVs later in the year, which is almost guaranteed.
That’s exactly what I did last year. I had my eye on the 48-inch LG C5 basically from the day LG announced it, but I didn’t actually buy one until Black Friday, about eight months after launch. By waiting, I ended up saving $500, which was more than worth the wait. The same logic applies this year.
…if you’re set on the newer C6 or G6 model, prices will likely start to fall sometime this summer. But as you might expect, the biggest discounts will arrive around Black Friday…
If you’re looking for a new OLED TV right now, both the LG C5 and G5 series are already discounted at retailers like Best Buy and Amazon to make room for the new models. While the newer TVs are technically faster and brighter, the older models are still excellent, and in everyday use, you might not notice a significant difference, as the LG C5 and G5 series still support Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, HDR10, Filmmaker Mode, VRR, ALLM, and high refresh rates, with up to 165Hz on the G5 and 144Hz on the C5.
For example, right now you can find a 55-inch LG C5 for around $1,100, which is about $900 cheaper than the upcoming 55-inch LG C6. If you look at pricing data from CamelCamelCamel, which tracks Amazon price history, you’ll also see that the C5’s price started dropping pretty quickly around July. So if you’re set on the newer C6 or G6 model, prices will likely start to fall sometime this summer. But as you might expect, the biggest discounts will arrive around Black Friday, when you’ll have the best chance to save the most money.
All in all, if you’re interested in buying a new LG OLED TV and want to save money, waiting for a sale later in the year on the latest models is your best option if you’re not in a rush. Alternatively, buying last year’s C5 or G5 model on sale now isn’t a bad choice either. I bought my LG C5 TV in November last year at a deep discount, and I have no regrets, and you probably won’t either if you choose an LG C5 or G5 OLED TV.
