NEED TO KNOW
- Kim Kardashian filed multiple trademarks for a fashion and accessories company NOR11, hinting that her daughter North West, 12, is starting her own brand
- North has come under fire for showing off a number of piercings
- The daughter of Kardashian and Kanye West has been unapologetic about her style
It looks like North West is getting into the family business.
In three filings obtained by PEOPLE and dated Jan. 14, the 12-year-old's mom, Kim Kardashian, applied for a trademark for the company name "NOR11," which suggests that the action is on behalf of her daughter.
The applications are for a variety of clothing and accessories including dresses, footwear, loungewear, hats, watches, jewelry, handbags and cosmetics cases.
North has already followed in the footsteps of her dad, Kanye West. In January, she posted a clip of a new song on her Instagram Stories that was a collaboration with Kanye. The track, which was titled "Piercing on My Hand (Ye Version)," appeared to be commenting on the public outrage over North's two dermal piercings.
"Piercing on my hand, the other holding bands," North rapped in the song. "No friends, just filter, you wouldn’t understand."

"Went to school for two days, then I got banned/Skipping school, yeah, I do it on the daily," she continued later in the track. "Got some new rings, yeah, they’re so crazy."
"All my friends are hits, you know I’m not lazy/You’re so angry that I’m so mainstream," rapped North. "I’m not sure I’m crazy/I want more piercings and tats/I love blue hair put it in some plaits/Put the music to the max/I want like a hundred thousand racks."
North's body modifications first sparked backlash when she was seen with a dermal piercing while out in Rome in September. Fans argued that North is too young for a dermal piercing, which some argued causes more pain and likelihood of infection than other kinds.
She has since rocked a number of other piercings and modifications, though some of them have been fake.

Despite criticism, North has been unapologetic about her style.
While speaking with her mom for her Interview Magazine cover story, published on Oct. 11, North, 11, said that her dad inspires her fashion out of her parents as she discussed her style influences.
In a clip of their chat posted by Kardashian on her Instagram Stories, she asked North as she sat in a chair looking at the camera, “What’s your favorite style right now?”
“I like streetwear and ’90s. Tyler, the Creator; my dad; me!” North replied.
