Kelly Ripa has no shortage of uses for her wedding dress.
Ripa, 54, opened up about repurposing her 1996 wedding dress while chatting with People on Wednesday, April 23. “I took the tags off to wear it to our wedding, and I wear it all the time now as a beach cover-up,” she said.
Ripa added that her “off-the-rack” white lace Barneys New York dress set her back quite a bit at the time. “[It was] a lot of money,” she said of her $200 gown.
This isn’t the first time Ripa has talked about her wedding dress since marrying Mark Consuelos. In 2016, she shared on her Live! show that she actually bought the dress because she thought it was “really pretty” and ended up wearing it to her wedding.
“I said to myself, ‘I bet if I buy this, maybe it will be an investment piece. Maybe I will wear it more than once,” she shared.

That same year, she celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary by wearing the lace design again on vacation with Consuelos, 54.
For her getaway, Ripa styled the dress, which featured barely there straps and a fitted silhouette, with pearl earrings. She donned soft makeup and pulled her blonde hair back into an updo.

Consuelos, for his part, opted for a black T-shirt and green pants. The lovebirds hugged each other at the time and beamed for a photo.
Ripa and Consuelos met in 1995 while costarring on the soap opera All My Children. After tying the knot, they welcomed three children together: Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 22.
