Justin Baldoni Attends Blake Lively Deposition in Lawsuit

Justin Baldoni has a front-row seat for Blake Lively’s deposition in her It Ends With Us lawsuit against her director and costar, Us Weekly can confirm.

A source told Us on Thursday, July 31, that Baldoni, 41, is “in the room” for the deposition, which is taking place in New York City. (TMZ was first to report the news.)

Lively’s deposition was initially scheduled for July 17; however, Us confirmed that the date was postponed to Thursday. According to court docs obtained by Us, both Lively, 37, and Baldoni’s teams agreed to the change after Jed Wallace, a social media guru, was dismissed from the case for jurisdictional reasons.

At the time, a spokesperson for Lively told Us in a statement, “Ms. Lively respects the Court’s decision, which has nothing to do with the merits of her allegations about Mr. Wallace’s role in the smear campaign and relates solely to the procedural question of whether he is subject to jurisdiction in New York or elsewhere. We currently are evaluating our numerous options for holding Mr. Wallace accountable for the pivotal role he served in the retaliatory effort that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties paid him at least tens of thousands of dollars a month to perform.”

Blake Lively deposition has been postponed amid her ongoing legal battle against Justin Baldoni, Us Weekly can confirm. According to documents obtained by Us on Wednesday, July 16, Lively’s deposition — which was set to take in New York City on Thursday, July 17 — has been postponed until July 31. The pushback was agreed […]

Baldoni’s team, meanwhile, previously claimed that Lively was attempting to use her “celebrity status” to control the deposition.

“Lively is a plaintiff who has hurled serious allegations of misconduct against the Wayfarer Parties,” a letter obtained by Entertainment Weekly earlier this month read. “Like all defendants, the Wayfarer Parties are entitled to depose Lively to develop evidence crucial to their defense. They are also entitled to choose the location of the deposition, which they did.”

Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman raised eyebrows in May when he suggested Lively’s deposition take place at Madison Square Garden. “Since Ms. Lively is open to testifying, let’s make it count,” Freedman told People. “Hold the deposition at MSG, sell tickets or stream it and donate every dollar to organizations helping victims of domestic abuse.”

Lively’s rep told the outlet earlier this month that the actress’ deposition “should follow the same rules as every other witness in this case.”

Lively’s rep alleged that Freedman’s statement was trying to “make this matter a public spectacle,” reminding readers that it’s a “serious” case of “sexual harassment and retaliation, and it deserves to be treated as such.”

Ultimately a judge ruled that Lively could choose the location of her deposition.

Us confirmed earlier today that Lively had arrived for the deposition, which is being conducted by Baldoni’s legal team.

The meeting is linked to Lively and Baldoni’s legal battle which began in December 2024. At the time, Lively accused her It Ends With Us costar and director of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment and orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a countersuit against Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist, Leslie Sloane, for $400 million. He claimed that the trio was guilty of extortion and defamation, which they denied.

A New York judge has granted Blake Lively’s motion for a protective order ahead of her scheduled deposition. The ruling stated, “Lively will make arrangements for [Justin Baldoni’s legal […]

Last month, a judge dismissed Baldoni’s lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and Sloane. Baldoni’s lawsuit against The New York Times, who initially ran the story of Lively’s allegations against him, was also dismissed.

“The Court’s decision on the motion to dismiss has no effect whatsoever on the truth that there was no harassment nor any smear campaign, and it does not in any way affect our vigorous defense against Ms. Lively’s claims,” Baldoni’s attorney Freedman said in a statement to Us in June.

Justin Baldoni has opted not to refile claims in his countersuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. The news comes weeks after Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Lively, 37, and Reynolds, 48. Baldoni’s countersuit came after Lively accused her It Ends With Us costar and director, 41, of sexual harassment, […]

The lawyer continued: “Discovery is proceeding and we are confident that we will prevail against these factually baseless accusations. Instead of revising the existing claims, our clients will be pursuing additional legal options that are available to us.”

A spokesperson for Lively also responded to the legal win, telling Us in a statement, “The Court dismissed the frivolous $400 million Baldoni-Wayfarer lawsuit in its entirety. In the days that followed, Baldoni’s lawyer said the judge’s decision to dismiss their case was not a big deal as they promised to amend and refile it. As per usual, that was not true. The Court’s dismissal of Baldoni’s sham lawsuit was a total victory after all.”

Lively and Baldoni’s trial is scheduled for March 2026.
