Jessica Hall is opening up about her relationship with fellow Playboy model, Kendra Wilkinson.
Hall, 41, told Allison Holker and Weslie Fowler on the Sunday, May 25, episode of their “Between Us” podcast that Wilkinson, who once dated the late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, is “still to this day one of my best friends.”
The pair’s time at Playboy overlapped, though they had very different roles. Hall said she was never one of Hefner’s girlfriends, but the Girls Next Door reality series — in which Wilkinson starred alongside Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt — was filmed during her time as a model for the magazine and website.
Hall, who has two children with her husband, Kyle Carlson, also opened up about whether or not she would want her daughter Sophie to follow in her footsteps and pose for cameras in a similar fashion.
“I would hope that I could help her build other ways to think that’s not … And not that I thought that when I first did it, but it was, it was just, I guess, I don’t know, I just see what times are like,” she said, “Because back then, [Playboy] was the thing.”
She added that she was “so nervous” before her first shoot.
“I remember so well doing it and I was covering [my body] and I was like, ‘Can you see anything?’ And they’re like, ‘Well, it’s kind of the point,’ ‘cause I was so … it wasn’t like I just walked in with all this confidence,” she explained.
Hall also said she didn’t think about the impact the shoot could potentially have on her in the future, and definitely wasn’t thinking about whether or not her future kids would see the photos one day.
Hall was a major source of support for Wilkinson when the latter went through her divorce from ex-husband Hank Baskett.
Now that Kendra, she’s on her own, she’s taking care of her babies and, I mean, beyond, way focused,” Hall told Us Weekly exclusively back in 2019. “I’ve never seen her be such a good mom as she is now and she’s working at it.”
Added Hall: “I get a lot of advice [from her] because her kids are older and her parenting skills — she’s just evolving. I can’t even say enough good things about her being a mom right now, ‘cause she’s just killing it and she’s doing it on her own, and I’m just really proud of her.”
Wilkinson and Baskett married in 2009 at the Playboy Mansion. The model filed for divorce in 2018.
