A 12-year-old girl was among three killed in a fiery late-night crash between two utes in Queensland’s South Burnett region.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the Bunya Highway at Taabinga near Kingaroy after a Dodge Ram collided with a Ford Ranger and burst into flames shortly after 10pm on Monday.
The male driver and sole occupant of the Ram died at the scene near the intersection of Stuart Valley Drive and Toomeys Road.
The 44-year-old female driver of the Ranger and one of her passengers, a 12-year-old girl, were also killed.
A second girl, 13, also travelling in the Ranger, was rushed to Kingaroy Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
She was later airlifted to Brisbane’s Queensland Children’s Hospital.
The Bunya Highway remains closed with diversions in place on Tuesday morning as crash investigators examine the scene.

The latest tragedy comes after 302 people lost their lives on Queensland’s roads in 2025 – a 16-year high.
The Wide Bay Burnett region recorded the most deaths with 26 lives lost.
