The ‘heartbroken’ family of a Yorkshire girl who died ‘suddenly’ after an epileptic seizure have paid tribute to their ‘perfect daughter’.
Millie-Jay Rose Boocock, 17, died on February 25 after she was thought to have had an epileptic fit at her grandmother’s house in Morley, YorkshireLive reports.
She was diagnosed with epilepsy around four years ago and had been free of seizures for three months before her death.
The teenager has been described as a much-loved and beautiful daughter and granddaughter.
Her father Chris said Millie-Jay was a lovely young woman who was polite and had a good group of friends.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved reading and was a student at Wakefield College, Wakefield, where she studied business.
Millie-Jay enjoyed baking and had dreams of running her own business.
In an obituary shared online, Millie-Jay was described as a ‘deeply loved’ teenager who will be ‘remembered with great love and affection’.

It reads: ‘On 25th February 2026, suddenly, aged just 17, Millie-Jay, cherished and deeply loved daughter of Shell and Chris, much loved granddaughter of Susan and Michael, Andrea and the late Mick and remembered with great love and affection by all her family and many friends.
‘The Funeral service will take place at St Mary of the Angels RC Church, Batley on Monday 30th March 2026 at 2pm followed by a committal at Batley Cemetery. Relatives and friends please accept this [invitation].
‘Flowers will be received at George Brooke’s Chapel of Rest, Dewsbury or if preferred donations in memory of Millie may be made online or placed in the collection box provided for the benefit of Epilepsy Action. Millie-Jay – Forever 17.’
Chris said Millie-Jay had been diagnosed with epilepsy around four years ago and had suffered from seizures.
He said the family hadn’t fully realised just how dangerous the condition can be.
The teenager’s mother Shell said Millie-Jay had been free of seizures for three months before her death.
Shell paid tribute to her daughter, saying: ‘She’s my number one girl and my heart is broken.’
Millie-Jay’s parents, along with family and friends, are now raising money for Epilepsy Action in her memory.
Chris said he wanted to raise awareness of epilepsy and how serious a condition it is.
