Jayla Cunningham, an 18-year-old hairstylist, is in hot water — and hot charges — after security footage appeared to show her assaulting a 15-year-old client. According to Cunningham, her client allegedly tried to leave her facility without paying for her services.
Now, Jayla Cunningham is speaking out.

More Details On The Hairstylist Who Dragged A Teen Client Over A Payment Dispute
According to Carter, Jayla Cunningham has been a hairstylist serving the DMV region since she was 14 years old. Now, after a four-hour session with a 15-year-old client, Cunningham has made national headlines. Per the hairstylist, when it was time for the 15-year-old to pay the $150 for her service, she allegedly tried to run off.
However, per Carter, the client’s brother was responsible for her payment and allegedly sent the money to the wrong Cash App account.
“After her calling a couple of times, she was like, ‘I dont have it. That’s all I have, and nobody can send it. Can my mother send it in two weeks when she gets paid?’” Cunningham recalled of the moments leading up to the alleged incident. “I said, ‘Girl, I’m not trying to be petty, but no. That’s entirely too long… Somebody else gotta send the payment.”
At that point, the 15-year-old alleged she would have someone send the money. However, she got up and appeared to walk out of Cunningham’s suite.
“She was halfway up the steps, and mind you, there’s nothing up the steps but the exit door,” Cunningham said.

At that point, the 15-year-old allegedly exited the facility and took off running. Security footage then shows Cunningham dragging the 15-year-old back into her suite. Then, as cops arrived, Cunningham says she made the decision to try and “cut” the hairstyle off the client with a pair of scissors.
