Sou Fujimoto designed the EARTH Villa, which has recently been completed as an organic extension of the landscape itself. It is nestled along a tranquil coastal area on Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. EARTH is both progrssive and environmentally conscious.

The villa is just at the heart of a natural preserve with panoramic views of greenery and the ocean. This serves as the canvas that the designer used as the main inspiration and material for its vision. The most striking feature is the circular footprint and its large curved glass walls that invite an open feel. The same element invites plenty of natural light into the space with grasses and plants that top the green roof.
