Global Girl Group-Inspired Dolls : fright song

Mattel has partnered with global girl group KATSEYE to reimagine Monster High’s iconic ‘Fright Song.’ This collaboration effectively blends contemporary pop sensibilities with the brand’s signature celebration of individuality.

The collaboration features a high-production music video showcasing each KATSEYE member transformed into unique monster personas rooted in their cultural heritage — from a Filipino Manananggal to a Korean White Tiger spirit. Accompanying the musical release of KATSEYE’s ‘Fright Song’ are custom-designed, one-of-a-kind dolls representing these hybrid identities. The visual presentation employs cinematic lighting, elaborate costumes, and dynamic choreography to create a vibrant monster school fantasy world.

This project revitalizes Monster High’s 2010 anthem, which has amassed nearly 90 million streams, with updated lyrics and an empowering tempo while maintaining the franchise’s core message of self-acceptance.
