Dutch manufacturer Aifunghi presented a range of furry mycelium chairs with the goal of driving sustainable furniture into a sexier description. It was unveiled during the 3 Days of Design festival in Copenhagen. Along with the furry chairs, the brand also unveiled a capsule of ten pieces, including tables and lamps covered in the material as well.
All of these are made from bio-composite made from Aifunghi’s sister company, Growmolding. Bart Schilder, who started Aifunghi alongside his wife Marije, spoke more about the designs, “We wanted to make it – although I hate the word – a little bit more sexy. We didn’t want to make something that is alienating, but something that’s really usable and available as well. People can buy it.”
