Sebastian Herkner designs the Loja collection of lights for German brand Midgard Licht. It is defined by curved paper lampshades which are carefully angled to control the direction of light. The namesake nods to Loja Saarinen, who is a Finnish-American textile artist and sculptor.
The capsule is made up of a floor lamp, pendant lamp, and table lamp — all of which are made with the sweeping paper shade at a tilt. Designer Sebastian Herkner speaks on the design, “The soft, dynamic shape of the lampshade encourages interaction and invites users to direct the light as they wish. Like a hat that you wear casually on your head, the shade can be swivelled into the desired position with a flick of the wrist.”
