Don’t Quit on Yourself

Job search is hard, I don’t have to tell you that. You run into a lot of roadblocks, people who don’t respond, situations where you think you’re going to get an offer that you suddenly get ghosted in. I’ll simply say I’m here to help. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for no BS job search coaching and career advice globally because I make the process of finding work and succeeding at it much easier.
Today I want to begin a series that’s going to deal with how to give yourself an attitude boost when you’re feeling in the dumps, when you’ve been kicked in the teeth too many times, and you’re having trouble pulling yourself out of it. This one today is about quantifying your successes. Give yourself some data to support the fact that you are competent, you can do this work.
So the first thing is, do before and after scenarios from key projects that you were on and be reminded of the impact that you’ve had from your past. Also, review testimonials. Get more testimonials from people for your LinkedIn profile. Review your performance reviews. Take a look at your successes from the past. Remind yourself because it’s easy to forget in the midst of all the hell of job hunting. Lastly, take a look at your metrics. What was your impact in your work, how much money did you make or save for your previous firms, how much of a percentage did you help improve some operating procedure? Pay attention to this stuff. You make a difference, and sometimes we need to be reminded of it.
I have a lot more available at jobsearch.community. Some of it’s free if that’s on the homepage, but if you become an insider, you’ll get access to a lot of great content. Plus, I’ll be coaching you as well.
