The Banana Republic Archive is a new initiative by the well-known apparel brand. It is focused on the curation and sale of Banana Republic’s own vintage garments from the 1970s through the 1990s. Throughout this project, the fashion label will release limited quantities of hand-selected pieces — from jackets and shirts to utility wear. All pieces are said to embody the brand’s original adventurous aesthetic.
As part of the Banana Republic Archive, a collaborative capsule collection assembled by stylist Marcus Allen will be presented to the public. Allen selected 70 specific items to highlight. The stylist shared his personal connection with the project: “For me, vintage clothing is more about nostalgia, storytelling, and quality. This collection is about bringing those ideas forward with intention.”
Furthermore, the brand has formally acquired a pre-existing, fan-created digital archive known as Abandoned Republic, which houses a collection of historical brand catalogs and memorabilia.
