Drake has recently been making headlines for releasing new music, moving away from hip-hop/rap to more pop-based songs. With his recent album, the pop star collaborated with R&B artist PARTYNEXTDOOR for some smoother and more soulful beats. Since then, fans have been waiting eagerly for the star to release more music after the aforementioned album broke records and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. But it seems that while the hits keep coming, so does the drama.

The ‘Rich Flex’ rapper took to the streets of Toronto in his truck to live stream new music on his YouTube channel, titled “ICEMAN EPISODE ONE”. Fans from all over the city came to show their love, but one particular individual had something else on his mind. As Drake was cruising down the street, a citizen yelled “Drake’s a —ch”. Drake retaliated immediately, egging the fan to square up right after hurling slurs back at him.

Drake’s response went as follows, “So what then big dog? Don’t look away now, —sy. Don’t look away now”. As the moment got heated, Drake commanded that the livestream be stopped. Nobody knows what happened after, but Drake was last seen leaving the truck just before the stream got cut. Even though he did not start it, Drake still wound up getting clowned—again.

Looks like an eventful first stream for the ‘ICEMAN’ album rollout, with the highlight being Drake’s manner of response.

Drake gets trolled online for reaction to slur

Fans did not hesitate to post their reactions on X, following the debacle on Drake’s recent livestream. One user even referenced Drake’s longtime rival, Kendrick Lamar‘s verse on the diss track ‘Euphoria’ – “I like Drake with the melodies, I don’t like Drake when he act tough”. Multiple users on X took shots at Drake with comments like “Always remember kids…Drake is a professional actor.” His Jamaican accent and voice were also made fun of. A fan wrote, “Why does Drake sound like that LMAO”. 

While most of X appears to be trolling the rapper, his fan base remains dedicated to the OVO star’s continual rise, begging for the next album, ‘ICEMAN’, to be released. They flooded X with comments like “Drake saving the rap industry again” and “He’s back bro“. A number of fans expressed their approval of the new single, with some claiming that Drake is “saving the rap industry again”. With the album ‘ICEMAN’ just around the corner, what other records is he planning to break?
