Petaluma, known for its plant-based pet food products, launched a Whole Food Mixer as a more affordable way for pet parents to supply fresh, nutritious food to their dogs. This dehydrated food for adult dogs is easily prepared by adding water, and best served as a meal topper, a mix-in or a complete meal replacement.

Dr. Sarah Dodd, a board-certified veterinary nutritionist and a leader in plant-based pet food formulations, developed the product and explained, “Most commercial toppers are formulated to provide only up to 10% of a dog’s total calories. If you add more than the recommended allowance, it could lead to nutritional imbalance.
