Pöppler revives a 1920s German villa in Hagen, transforming a fire-damaged, uninspired interior into a vivid, modern family residence. Working with artisans, he stripped away outdated finishes and reopened original features like oculus windows, restored brickwork, and curved ceilings, blending historical integrity with contemporary expression. The palette—crimson accents, mint doors, and a pink linoleum staircase—echoes Memphis design without overwhelming the space.
The renovation also emphasized craft: yacht‑inspired wood ceilings, custom terrazzo floors, and artisanal door handles by Belgian foundries. Pöppler merged bespoke furniture—such as his Baba chair and Celtic dining table—with carefully chosen classics, creating tactile interiors brimming with personality. Round arches and oval portals connect light-filled living zones to a revived garden and natural pool. This holistic redesign showcases how bold color, craftsmanship, and respect for heritage can coexist harmoniously in modern living.
