The Yerba Madre ‘Dirt Shoes’ has been designed by the Basura design studio as an ultra-sustainable footwear style that takes eco-friendly aesthetics to a whole new level. The footwear is characterized by its earthy appearance, which is actually made from compacted dirt organic plant fibers, soil-derived materials, wildflower seeds and tree sap. These materials combine to keep the shoes solid during wear, but will break down quickly upon being discarded and will actually help to benefit the surrounding landscape wherever they end up.

The Yerba Madre ‘Dirt Shoes’ were achieved using a series of methods including 3D printing and artisanal handcrafting procedures to give them the utmost attention to detail. The shoes were developed by the tea brand as a way to showcase its continued effort towards sustainability in its practices and products.
