The proposed acquisition encompasses a portfolio of solar and wind power generation assets under development. These renewable energy projects have a combined potential capacity of approximately 1,300 megawatts and are situated across several Colombian regions.
The transaction between Ecopetrol S.A. and Starkraft remains subject to standard regulatory approvals and the meeting of certain predefined conditions. If completed, this move would substantially advance the company’s stated objective of incorporating a significant amount of renewable energy capacity for its own operational use. The initiative is also intended to secure a more stable and competitively priced electricity supply for Ecopetrol S.A.’s operations, which would reduce reliance on the volatile spot market and diversify its energy sources.
